Molepolole hardware stores to move to industrial area

Hardware shops in Molepolole will have to move to the new industrial site soon. Addressing Ntlo ya Dikgosi yesterday, Assistant Minister of Local Government, Maxwell Motowane said the two and half years grace period given to hardware owners to shift base is about to elapse.

The Assistant Minister was responding to a question from Kgosi Basiamang Garebakwena who wanted to know if the ministry would not consider suspending the relocation until a review of the Molepolole Development Plan is completed.

Hardware owners in the village had previously asked for the suspension of the relocation pending a review of the Molepolole Development Plan.  Motowane said that the ministry, through the Kweneng District Council, has been addressing the matter since 2011 and resolved to give traders a reasonable time to relocate to alternative premises.
