Molefhabangwe goes solo

Robert Molefhabangwe will defend his Gaborone West South parliamentary seat as an independent candidate after his expulsion from the Botswana National Front (BNF).

The fiery legislator said other parties have tried to woo him but his advisors convinced him to stand as an independent. He said other parties have chosen their candidates and that is why he has decided to go solo, an about-face from his earlier announcement that he would do no such thing.

He had said he would rather join small parties like PUSO, MELS and Botswana Peoples Party (BPP) because he believes in opposition unity because it would be unwise to contest as an independent.
