Mohwasa wants Phikwe for BNF

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana National Front (BNF) spin-doctor, Moeti Mohwasa hopes to translate his swelling popularity within the country's official opposition by wrestling Selebi-Phikwe West from the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) in the 2009 elections.

Mohwasa won the position of publicity secretary with a convincing margin of 1, 056 against Joper Osupile's 357, which was the highest for any candidate at the Molepolole congress held in May this year.

But he will be coming up against seasoned politicians in Gilson Saleshando and the incumbent MP, Kavis Kario in what could be termed the group of death among the two Phikwe constituencies.
