MoH to ensure access to safe drugs-Tlou

The Drugs and related substances Act is being amended to harmonise it with the National Drug Policy to improve access to essential medicines, the Minister of Health, Sheila Tlou, has said.

 


Presenting her ministry's budget in Parliment, Tlou stated that the (Ministry of Health) is in the process of strengthening its drug regulation and quality assurance systems to ensure drugs on the local market are safe, effective and of acceptable quality.
"Drugs availability at Central Medical Stores (CMS) and hospitals has been a serious challenge over the years. My ministry is working hard on finding a lasting solution," Tlou said.
