Ministry of Health has dismissed allegations that patients were fed take away food over the holidays.

Principal public relations officer at the Ministry of Health, Doreen Motshegwa has said that the allegation is not true since patients were given hospital food in takeaway containers only as a way of reducing the workload. She said that the hospital cooked meals as usual, and instead of using plates they used takeaways containers so that they would be no wash loads afterwards. "We were there all the time and everything went just okay, there were no takeaway foods from outside," she said.

Meanwhile, patients had threatened not to accept the food from the hospital suspecting that they could have been prepared under unhygienic conditions.
