Mogonye monument launch today

The Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism through the Department of National Museum and Monuments will officially open the Mogonye Monument today.

The ocassion is to be held at the gatehouse, one of the structures within the Mogonye monuments. The Minister responsible,Tshekedi Khama officially opened the Mogonye infrastructure developments, which is said to be part of the 100 monuments, a presidential initiative aimed at alleviating poverty among the rural communities.

The facilities include the gatehouse, campsite and ablution block. They are a collaboration project between the Department of National Museum and Monuments, Mogonye Community and Ipelegeng Programme.  The facilities are to enhance tourism activities in the form of camping and tours at the site for community benefit.
