Mogo land scam: over 500 homes face yellow monster

The Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crimes (DCEC) is said to be wrapping up investigations into yet another land scam in Mogoditshane, which is likely to leave over 500 families homeless.

Information reaching The Monitor suggests that some officers at Mogoditshane Sub-Land Board have been making a killing, selling residential plots to members of the public, who later resell the said plots. The investigations so far have identified two kingpins - a man and a woman - who are likely to appear in court in the near future.

One of the affected homeowners said that he was 'invited' to the DCEC offices, where he was grilled about how he acquired his plot on which he has constructed a three-bedroom house.
