Mogalakwe threatens to stall BNF primaries

Former Botswana National Front (BNF) dissident councillor, Mogalakwe Mogalakwe, wants the party leadership to formally reverse his expulsion from the party.

In a letter filed by attorneys Bayford and Associates and addressed to BNF secretary general, Muhammad Khan, also copied to disciplinary committee chairman, Lemogang Ntime, Mogalakwe gives the party seven days to give him an opportunity to state his case or otherwise reinstate his membership.

"The central committee erred by relying on a report of the National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) to expel the appellant. The NDC was at the material time chaired by a person who was incompetent to hold the office of chairperson, by reason of section 4.1 of the BNF constitution," says Mogalakwe's letter.
