The old presidential jet is now owned by a United States company after being sold last year November in a secret deal for a meagre P15.1 million. The jet, sold to Aviation Enterprises Incorporated, was immediately flown out of the country.

The old presidential jet is now owned by a United States company after being sold last year November in a secret deal for a meagre P15.1 million. The jet sold to Aviation Enterprises Incorporated, was immediately flown out of the country.  Responding to Mmegi enquiries the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Public Affairs and Protocol office confirmed that the aircraft was valued at approximately P40 million but was due for service that would cost over P20million.

Meanwhile Acting Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Edwin Batshu, told Parliament during the February budget meeting that the jet was parked somewhere at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport waiting for the global economy to recover to fetch a good price.
