Mogae's Choppies ties raise legal and ethical knots

Political observers say the former president's relationship with the business community generally raises ethical issues. Mogae was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Choppies Group on October 1, 2008.
"He has been actively involved with the company. He attends regional meetings which are held twice a month and he is remunerated accordingly," says the group's Chief Executive Officer, Ram Ottappath, who describes " Mogae (as) the best icon you can get in sub-Saharan Africa".
