Mogae slapped with P800 fine

Chedza Mogae was relieved yesterday when the Extension Two Magistrate Court concluded her case by imposing a fine of P800 with no custodial sanction.

Mogae was on trial for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit breath samples to the police for testing. 

She was discharged and acquitted on the first offence but convicted on the second.
Mogae was arrested on the night of June 17, 2006 along the Independence Avenue, off Nelson Mandela Highway on suspicion that she was driving her Isuzu Double Cab while under the influence of alcohol.
