Former president Festus Mogae will serve as the African Presidential Archives and Research Centre's Sixth African President-in-Residence from today to the end of May this year at Boston University in the United States.

He leaves for the United States today, a day after returning from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he attended the inaugural meeting of the Coalition for Dialogue on Africa Advisory Board.

The African Presidents-in-Residence Programme is an initiative of the African Presidential Archives and Research Centre (APARC) at Boston
University. The programme offers an opportunity for former democratically elected African leaders to spend up to two years in residence at Boston University. It is designed to provide an opportunity for the former leaders to acclimatise to life after leaving power by providing a venue that will value and utilise their experience and expertise. APARC's work complements the mission of Boston University's African Studies and African-American Studies programmes.
