The Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) has announced that primary schools will reopen today, after being closed by Minister Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi last week as protests by junior and senior secondary school students escalated.

Speaking to The Monitor over the weekend, principal public relations officer Nomsah Zuze, said only primary schools would be opened. She would not be drawn into discussing reasons why all public schools should not resume classes.

However, according to unconfirmed reports, the move is a cover up by the Ministry of Education officials who had been approached by the various embassies and high commissions in Gaborone expressing worry that their children are missing out on their education.
