MoE visits medical students

A delegation of the Ministry of Education has just returned from a trip to the UK, Jamaica, Canada, Grenada, and Trinidad and Tobago to visit Batswana students pursuing medicine and engineering studies in those countries.

The delegation, which included MoE permanent secretary, Grace Muzila and her deputies, addressed the general welfare of the students, their contracts with MoE and their general academic performance.

"Their programmes are very long and they do not come home often, but you will find that they are not being checked on by either their parents or us," says the principal public relations officer, Nomsah Zuze. "Because they do not have much contact with their parents, we felt we needed to talk to them about their welfare because as government, we are also interested in getting something in return from them."
