MoE retires Radibe again

After last year's failure, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has launched a fresh bid to retire Botswana Teachers' Union (BTU) president, Japhta Radibe, from the teaching service. The Sedibelo Community Junior Secondary School headmaster in Mochudi has been slapped with a second retirement letter with instructions that he starts serving a three-month notice on April 1.

The letter dated March 16, 2007 was hand- delivered to Radibe last Friday.

The BTU president was first retired last year with immediate effect. But he was reinstated two weeks later after public pressure and the realisation by the ministry that it had not followed the right procedure.
