Modubule is "ready to return to the BNF fold"

LOBATSE: In a dramatic turn of events, the former chairman of the Botswana National Front (BNF) Nehemiah Modubule says he is ready to return to the party that expelled him at the height of its internecine squabbles earlier this year and help it retain its status as the official opposition.

This comes after Modubule made the BNF eat humble pie by drubbing candidates of three solid political parties. The MP felled Moggie Mbaakanyi of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Diane Taunyane of Botswana Democratic Party (BCP) and Otlaadisa Koosaletse of the Botswana National Front (BNF).

In this he made history by becoming the first independent candidate to win parliamentary elections. But on Sunday, Modubule became the quintessence of equanimity and the self-discipline preached by socialists when he told a victory rally that he would help the BNF regain its former glory.
