Botswana’s iconic and leading letter writer who dominated the opinion pages of newspapers since the 70s Themba Mguni has died aged 75. Mguni was a loyal reader of Mmegi newspaper and a man who loved to share his views and opinions with Batswana on print publications.

He made ‘Letters to the Editor’ fashionable and his letters had been published in national newspapers for decades. At Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Mguni could not hide his loyalty to Barata-Phathi team and he was not comfortable with someone in their team inviting an A-team member to their event.
