Mmathethe man in court for murder

LOBATSE: A 28-year old man of Mmathethe village in the Southern District David Gontho appeared before a Lobatse magistrate on Tuesday on a charge of murder.

The man is alleged to have murdered his 31-year-old girlfriend using a sharp instrument on the night of May 1 in Woodhall Two Location in Lobatse. Superintendent Cyprian Magalela of Lobatse police said they have been informed that the two had a misunderstanding before the killing. 

The police say two people died on the spot when the VW Golf they were travelling in got involved in an accident on Sunday morning at SunnySide 15 kilometres north of Lobatse. Assistant superintendent Alison Mbaiwa said the two had been given a lift from Pitsane to Gaborone.
