Missing Ramokgonami man found dead in village pond

A 36-year-old man from Ramokgonami village, who had been reported missing on Thursday, was found dead in a village pond (mogobe) filled with water on Saturday.

The discovery brought an end to a two-day search for the man, whose disappearance had sparked concern among family members and residents.

Following the recovery of the body, rumours circulated within the community suggesting that the deceased may have been killed and thrown into the pond. However, police have dismissed the allegations after a post-mortem examination was conducted at the scene.
