MISA queries manipulation of state media

In the continuing saga that is the Media Practitioners Bill, the Media Institute of Southern Africa director, Thapelo Ndlovu, has pointed an accusing finger at the state-owned media for what he alleges is an obvious bias towards the Minister of Communication Science and Technology, Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi.

This follows last Wednesday's The Eye show in which the minister was invited to discuss the controversial bill, but contrary to journalistic practice, media representatives were not given the same platform.

Ndlovu says according to journalistic principles one should always be balanced. The producers should have called both sides to the argument so they engage on the same show.
