The Botswana chapter of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) launched the Regional Ethical Guidelines in Child Reporting booklet last Friday.

The booklet was launched in Gaborone on the second day of a workshop on children and the media organised by MISA and Regional Psycho-Social Support Initiative (REPSSI). At the launch, Reagan Malumo, a representative from the MISA regional secretariat in the Windhoek, Namibia called for awards on child reporting, as part of MISA's Children and the Media project.

The project aims to build the skills of Southern African journalists and ensure that they have the capability to report positively on children issues, as well as to contribute to the realisation of children's rights in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
