Ministry tackles S/Phikwe council qaugmire

The ministry's Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary Peter Mongwaketse and Chief Legal Advisor Kenanao Sebotho were at the Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) to establish the cause of the standoff between the Mayor Lekang Mukokomani and councillors that is stalling service delivery.
The delegation met the Mayor on Monday and the rest of the councillors on Tuesday. The Deputy Permanent Secretary confirmed the visit. "Yes, we visited the council with the intention to establish the true facts about the matter and forge a way forward," Mongwaketse said. "We tried to talk to both parties to find an amicable solution so that the council may operate in the interests of the people of Selebi-Phikwe."
