Ministry reworks CMS

The Ministry of Health (MoH) is exploring several options of re-engineering Central Medical Stores (CMS).

Presenting six senior experts from USAID and the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to CMS, the ministry's permanent secretary, Newman Kahiya said funding of the experts will be done through PEPFAR-related supply chain management systems for three years with the option of an extension.

Team management will include a chief operating officer as the team leader, assisted by supporting experts in the areas of operations responsible for warehousing and distribution, human resources, finance, procurement and quality assurance.
