Ministry Refutes Allegations Of Maltreatment Of Exam Markers

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC)'s executive secretary, Dr Serara Moahi, says teachers marking the Junior Certificate and Botswana Government Certificate in Secondary Education (BGCSE) papers are not working under shoddy conditions.

Refuting allegations of abuse of markers at the Ministry of Education press briefing last week, Moahi said they have made sure that when the teachers go to mark they are not unhappy as that could compromise the marking.

"We do not want them to have a negative attitude towards the process," she said.
