Ministry Audits Private Schools, Says Mokalake

The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Lebonaamang Mokalake, told Parliament last weekend that his ministry has been monitoring private tertiary institutions where it has awarded students sponsorships.

Responding to a question by Gaborone Central MP, Dumelang Saleshando, Mokalake revealed that so far his ministry, through the Tertiary Education Council (TEC), has conducted an audit of Limkokwing, GIPS, Ba Isago, ABM University College and NIIT.

Saleshando asked whether the Ministry of Education has ever carried out an audit of sponsorships for students enrolled at private tertiary institutions in Botswana.
Mokalake told Parliament that although the Ministry of Education conducts regular audits on all tertiary institutions, the private institutions have been given more attention.
