Minister Tlou shines at Royal-Dublin

DUBLIN: The annual World AIDS Day lecture, sponsored by Irish Aid, took place at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

The theme of the lecture was 'Children Affected by HIV and AIDS' and was delivered by Professor Michael J. Kelly, University of Zambia (UNZA) and guest speaker, Professor Sheila Tlou, Minister for Health in Botswana.

The lecture coincided with World AIDS Day. Minister Tlou may not have represented herself wisely in recent times but in this particular instance she pulled the right strings much to the delight of the Irish crowd. First to speak was Professor Kelly, whom the annual lecture is named after, an Irish Jesuit priest, recently retired as professor of Education from UNZA in Lusaka, Zambia. He is a renowned expert in addressing HIV/AIDS through the education sector. Over the years, Kelly has spent considerable time researching the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS in Africa and in particular its impact on education.
