Mines' union appeals for fair Moolman package

FRANCISTOWN: The dreaded axe that has been looming over Moolman Mining Botswana staff at Tati Nickel Mining Company (TNMC) plant has finally come down on 177 workers. Moolman Mining has given the workers two weeks notice.

On Monday the Botswana Mine Workers Union (BMWU) leadership and Moolman Mining management were locked in a series of meetings trying to tie up loose ends without success.

The BMWU secretary general, Jack Tlhagale said one of the major issues that arose from the meetings was retrenchment.
