Miners Reject BCL's Offer

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Botswana Mine Workers' Union (BMWU) has rejected BCL management's offer of an eight percent salary increment.

BMWU was demanding a 40 percent salary rise but the management has offered eight percent.

BMWU Phikwe branch chairperson David Lesejane said the eight percent "is too little". He said the union is still hopeful management will adjust the figure upwards to at least 15 percent. "Eight percent is just too little. We had asked for a 40 percent salary increase.
