Mine employee charged with theft

FRANCISTOWN: A plant operator at African Copper Mine in Dukwi, Mompoloki Obonye (29) and two others pleaded not guilty to a charge of theft when they appeared in court here on Tuesday.

Obonye is charged along with Daniel Kabelo (24) and Meshack Motsamai (24), who are both unemployed. The state alleges that the three broke into Enock Tsholofelo's tuckshop on February 15, 2013 at Dukwi Village in the Central District and stole goods worth P3,268.95 with the intention to permanently deprive the owner of the said goods.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.The first accused person, Kabelo, told the court he would look for an attorney while Motsamai and Obonye said they would appear in person.
