Mine chiefs in 'sex-for-job' scandal

FRANCISTOWN: Residents of Dukwi village are up in arms against the African Copper mine after two expatriate male employees of RSV/SENET were accused of luring and giving employment in exchange for 'sex'.

An official of Sladden International is also implicated in similar allegations. Both companies are sub-contracted by Messina Copper, a subsidiary of African Copper, to provide ancillary work at the Dukwi site.

The issue is said to have angered the residents so much that they plan to petition the mine management. But upon investigation, African Copper subsequently removed the three officials, whose names are known to Mmegi from the site pending an investigation.  The residents are still not satisfied with the outcome, as a certain family (also known to Mmegi) had benefited handsomely from the 'sex-for-job' allegations that have been going on for some time.
