Military intelligence officers graduate today

A total of 27 military intelligence officers are set to graduate today at the Botswana Public Service College from a SADC defence intelligence course, which has been running for the past two months.

The officers, all from SADC countries, have been equipped with skills to plan, direct and execute intelligence tasks during peace support operations in SADC.The course director Lt. Colonel Kenamile Badubi said the programme was a foundation for any military operation.

"These officers now have the capacity to be deployed anywhere in the world," he said in a media brief yesterday. He said intelligence is key in any military operation as such officers are the first to enter the field and the last to leave.He explained that their mandate is to advise operational commanders on situations before deployment.
