Mhlauli faces judgement in two weeks

The marathon case in which former local government, lands and housing permanent secretary, Elvidge Mhlauli is charged with abuse of public office and giving false information to a commissioner of oaths came another step closer to conclusion yesterday when the lawyers for the defence and the prosecution delivered their final submissions before Gaborone Village Chief Magistrate, Lot Moroka.

After listening to the submissions, Magistrate Moroka pledged that despite the copious court records, he would deliver his judgement on December 13.

Leading the prosecution submissions, Wesson Manchwe, said that their case on the count of abuse of office was dependent on the trail of paper evidence that has been led before court and the viva voce evidence.
