Men urged to donate blood

More males literally run away when approached to donate blood, the national blood donation recruitment coordinator informed employees of the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs (MLHA) at the health and wellness launch.

Kenneth Segokgo was telling the employees on Monday evening about the importance of donating blood, in a wellness week that will also includes screening ofor diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, cancer, voluntary counseling and HIV testing.

He said some would even say that the blood they have is enough for their own bodies only when asked to donate. However he allayed those fears, stating that one has up to five to six litres of blood in their body.
