Media urged to disregard "AIDS-fatigue"

The media has been urged to disregard the so-called "AIDS-fatigue" and continue to put AIDS issues on the national agenda.

Addressing journalists on Monday night during the launch of results from a media monitoring study, the coordinator of the National AIDS Coordinating Agency, Richard Matlhare said the media is integral in the fight against AIDS.

Matlare said there is still a lot of work to be done as Botswana remains the second highest in terms of adult prevalence rate of HIV/AIDS at 24.8 percent, and that 50.8 percent of women in the 35-39 age group are living with HIV.
