MDC braces for Zim elections

BULAWAYO: The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) faction of Professor Welshman Ncube is gearing for the forthcoming harmonised general elections expected to be held later this year.

All party structures in all provinces are in place whilst a new party manifesto has been crafted and will be published next month. Speaking in an interview at the party's headquarters in Bulawayo, Nhlanhla Dube, the Matebeleland province information and publicity officer, said recruitment for new members is in full swing and the response is overwhelming countrywide.

He also reiterated that Professor Arthur Mutambara, Deputy Prime Minister in the inclusive government, is not a member of the party anymore.  "Professor Arthur Mutambara is no longer one of us, he lost the leadership position to Professor Welshman Ncube way back in 2011 at the party's congress," said Dube.
