Mayor laments poor projects implementation

FRANCISTOWN: Francistown City Council (FCC) mayor Shadrack Nyeku has described several projects in the city as sub-standard and lamented the slow development of others.

Nyeku expressed these observations during his speech at the full council meeting in Francistown. "Such projects that come to my mind are the newly built primary school, Pelotelele, the newly constructed Donga clinic, Boikhutso IDCC and others that will be discussed in detail when the urban development committee present their report," he said.

Nyeku urged councillors to show commitment with regard to the monitoring of these projects. "I am fully aware that the contractors and the consultants play a part in the poor implementation of these projects but we also need to play our supervisory role diligently in order for us to produce quality," he said.
