Maunatlala chief installed

MAUNATLALA: Villagers turned out in large numbers to celebrate the installation of Gobusamang Mapena as Maunatlala chief at the main Kgotla on Saturday. Dikgosi (chiefs) and headmen from surrounding villages attended the ceremony. Gobusamang succeeded his uncle, Solomon Mapena, who died last year.

Kgosi Mmirwa Malema of Bobirwa issued a strong warning to the new chief saying bogosi is no child's play. "Today we are celebrating but there are those who will go behind your back with divisive intentions. That happens and you should be prepared for it. You should rise above petty issues and serve the people of Maunatlala," Malema said.

He advised the chief to be wary of politicians, some of whom have ulterior motives.
