Matabi, Manga Folk Gear Up To Clear Cemetery

MMADINARE: Residents of Matabi and Manga wards in Mmadinare on Friday toured their new cemetry to mark corner poles ahead of the three week period that the Land Tribunal has given the Ngwato Land Board to wrap up allocations. They have even set next week Friday for the community to start clearing the bushes at the new site.

The two wards won the court case against the land board for its failure to allocate them cemetery land because the one in use is full. Elders of the two wards gathered on Friday to form the delegation that will spearhead the case.

Sighs of relief after winning against the Land Board were written in the residents' faces as they even braved the scorching sun to walk around the new sites suggesting ways of using it to avoid misuse of land.
