A legal battle could be looming between the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and its candidate Robert Masitara over his candidacy for the Gaborone Bonnington North constituency.

As reported yesterday, a constituency meeting over the weekend recommended to the central committee that Masitara should be recalled for gross misconduct.  A source close to the development says in a subsequent meeting held on Monday that Masitara threatened the party with a legal suit should they continue with their plans to replace him.

“There was a meeting on Monday and Masitara said should the party go ahead and recall him he is going to court,” the source said.
