The MP for Gaborone West north Robert Masitara on Friday gathered hundreds of young people at the Limkwokwing University at Block 6 where they had the opportunity to interact with Youth Sport and Culture Minister, Shaw Kgathi, as well as officers from LEA, and CEDA, during the day long workshop. There were also officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

A young woman cried that she lost business due to negligence by CEDA officers. She said they delayed funding her business. The youth also complained that even though they have good business ideas and know how to execute them, Youth Fund officials at the ministry say they need skilled and experienced people. They said they are asked to present certificates to show that they are indeed qualified to carry out their respective projects.Tsholofelo Setlhoko, a young entrepreneur, pleaded with Kgathi to open doors for them so that they freely interact with him on issues that affect them as young entrepreneurs.

Kgathi said he and Masitara have decided to open up to the youth. He encouraged them to come to his office to seek assistance any time.He said that they have decided to create a forum where they can freely interact with youth. He urged CEOs of stakeholder organisations to also open up to the youth and attend all youth development meetings. He also asked the youth to attend Kgotla meetings and parliament so as to contribute to the development of the country. "There is no wrong door in our government. I encourage you to knock on any door at all government offices and seek assistance. If you cannot find help there, whoever assists you will refer you to the relevant people," he said.
