Masisi rubbishes constitutional review motion

The Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mokgweetsi Masisi, has accused the opposition of trying to use a motion - tabled on Friday by Kgatleng East Member of Parliament (MP), Isaac Mabiletsa - to circumvent their past failures at the polls.

Mabiletsa tabled a motion requesting government to set up a constitutional review commission that will "undertake the process of soliciting the views of Batswana countrywide on a comprehensive review of the Republican constitution in order to make it accord with modern day constitutional norms and standards."

In his response Masisi asked what the basis of the need to overhaul the constitution was.
