Masakeng charged for opening beyond stipulated time

MOCHUDI: Masakeng Bar and Garden Inn owner Percy Sebogodi has been charged with selling liquor at unstipulated hours, Assistant Superintendent Kabelo Bome of Mochudi Police Station has confirmed.

The bar was found open beyond the stipulated time on December 8, 2012. Bome said the bar does not have a 24-hour licence "because it is not a restaurant", contrary to Sebogodi's earlier assertion that his licence allows him to operate 24 hours a day.

Sebogodi had also threatened to sue Mochudi Police Station for confiscating alcohol at his bar during his absence on December 30, 2012. Bome said Masakeng, like any other bar in Mochudi, has to open at 1200 hours and close at 2200 hours during the week and open at 1400 hours and close at 2300 hours during the weekend.
