The body of a fisherman who drowned in Gaborone dam on Saturday was retrieved on Monday this week. The man’s body was found after a search operation.
According to a press release by Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) CEO Gaselemogwe Senai, the man drowned and died during fishing expedition.
“The search for the man began on Saturday and was retrieved on Monday. The corporation deeply regrets this incident and expresses condolences to the family. The corporation would like to thank expert teams from Botswana Defence Force (BDF) and Botswana Police Service (BPS) who assisted in the search and retrieval of the deceased's body,” Senai said.
However, he warned the public to take water infrastructure as live and exercise caution around and near all water bodies.
