CorrespondentFRANCISTOWN: It took a fervent supplication from a man defaulting to pay another for a High Court judge to suspend a 30-day civil imprisonment order that was to take effect on Friday.

Douglas Mochibe prayed hard for the order not to be effected by Justice Zibani Makhwade, saying he would pay the plaintiff, Shine Katlholo in P2,000 instalments for the next two months.

He also said at the end of August, he would pay a lump sum of P55, 000. He then prayed further that he would pay the balance by instalments of P2,000 until he finishes. In his ruling, Justice Makhwade said if a person is willing to pay he should not be sent to jail. He said a person could only be sent to jail if he fails to comply with the order.
