Man charged with hacking couple to death

FRANCISTOWN: The investigations officer in a case in which a 28-year-old man from Gudigwa village allegedly killed a couple, yesterday revealed harrowing details of how the incidents happened.

The state alleges that Kegategile Xiego killed Xhatso Jackson and Brenda Julius using a homemade axe on April 26, 2013 at Gudigwa village in the North West district. 

The deceased have four children together. Inspector Douglas Khumalo said he received a call around 2am during the day the incident allegedly happened. Khumalo said he proceeded to Gudigwa clinic where a nurse told him to come and identify a dead body.  “I discovered that the body had a deep fresh cut on the neck and the other below the left eye. After that, we proceeded to Legothwane ward in Gudigwa whereupon arrival I found another victim inside the yard.
