Man appears for rape

FRANCISTOWN: A 38-year old man appeared before Senior Magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu on a single charge of rape. The state alleges that unemployed Alfred Nfila Sladden raped a woman at Gulubane ward in Tati Siding village near Francistown on November 21, 2009.

Prosecutor Rodger Bosena told the court that investigations into the matter are complete and the state will call five witnesses to prove its case.

Sladden pleaded not guilty to the offence and said that he will conduct his own defence.
