FRANCISTOWN: Botswana Congress Party (BCP) parliamentary hopeful for Francistown South, Vain Mamela has said new voters need to be educated on how to vote.

He said at a political rally in Monarch, Francistown West constituency that it is wrong to assume that everyone who is going to cast their vote knows how it is done. He advised those who want to vote to carry a valid Omang card and a voter's registration card to polling stations.

"The polling officer shall then confirm if your name is in the voters' roll and after that, you are given a ballot paper which you shall take to a secret room and mark an X on the spot alongside the party of your choice," said Mamela, a former MP.
