Makgabaneng rallies to northern schools

FRANCISTOWN: The Makgabaneng team will tour schools in the north to educate pupils by holding school rallies.

Moratiwa Mangwegape of Makgabaneng said that they began the project early last year."Every term we touch on a different topic and go to the schools to educate the students," she said.Mangwegape, who is known as Shirley in the drama, said that though their main issue is to educate on matters concerning HIV and AIDS, they have broadened the scope of the programme."Our main focus is HIV but we cannot talk about it in isolation. We talk about peer pressure, focusing on your future, teenage pregnancy and these are all topics that concern HIV and AIDS," said Mangwegape.

She further said that this term they will educate the students about teenage pregnancy. "We have 10 schools in the north that we are visiting and eight other schools in the Gantsi area," she said.
