Major villages to pay high water bills

Residents of three major villages in the country will pay higher water tariffs after a decision to connect them to the Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) supply lines. The rise in tariffs will occur because Kanye, Molepolole and Serowe will switch from cheaper supplies from the Department of Water Supplies to WUC. The WUC Annual Report 2007-2008 reveals that the three villages will soon be connected to the North South Carrier Water (NSCW) supply lines. The NSCW is under WUC.

The WUC Annual Report raises concerns that the NSCW will come under tremendous pressure due to government plans to connect it to major villages.
