Maekopo returns from nostalgic re-union in Moscow

The government of the Russian Federation recently invited former foreign students who studied in that country for a re-union.

Many Africans were students in Russia before and after their countries attained independence in the 1960s. Some of them, like the late Dr Kenneth Koma, afterwards became prominent political figures in their countries.

Benjamin Maekopo represented his fellow Batswana at the get-together. Maekopo graduated from Kiev State University where he studied international law.
